In a previous article, I spoke to you about new beginnings\u2014those pivotal moments when we choose\u2014or are forced\u2014to start over, to set a new course, to turn the page. But once that page is turned, another question arises: so, what do we do now?<\/p>\n

This is where another expression\u2014one just as rich and nuanced\u2014takes center stage: moving forward.<\/p>\n

What It Means (and What It Doesn\u2019t)<\/p>\n

Moving forward does not mean forgetting what you have lived through. It does not mean drawing a line under the past, or pretending as if nothing ever happened. Rather, it means making peace with what has been, learning to live with it, and moving ahead regardless\u2014sometimes with a slightly heavier backpack, sometimes with newfound energy.<\/p>\n

We sometimes believe that to move forward, we must have everything resolved, understood, and under control. In truth, it often suffices to simply take a step. Just one. And then to take another, when you feel ready.<\/p>\n

Small Steps, But in the Right Direction<\/p>\n

Moving forward does not mean running, nor does it mean constantly performing. Sometimes, the simple act of staying on your feet is a victory in itself. What matters is the movement\u2014even if it is slow. Even if it is hesitant. What matters is not remaining frozen, paralyzed by fear or uncertainty.<\/p>\n

And what if you stumble along the way?<\/em> That is normal. No journey is free of obstacles. But every fall is a lesson; every detour is a revelation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

**The Past Does Not Define You**<\/p>\n

Moving forward also means **refusing to remain a prisoner of the past.** It is a part of you, but it does not **define you entirely.** Mistakes, pain, regrets… they exist. But they do not have to dictate your future. The rearview mirror is always smaller than the windshield\u2014and for good reason.<\/p>\n

You have the right to change. To reinvent yourself. To start over differently. The past has shaped you, but the future **belongs to you.**<\/p>\n

“Just because you\u2019ve turned the page doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019ve forgotten what was written on it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

**Cultivating Hope (Even When It\u2019s Hard)**<\/p>\n

Yes, some days will be tougher than others. And in those moments, you will have to draw upon your inner reserves. **Remember why you started.** Remember who you are, despite the storms. **Hope is not naive;** it is a choice. The choice to believe that something better lies ahead\u2014even if you cannot see it clearly yet.<\/p>\n

**You Are on Your Way**<\/p>\n

No matter your pace, and no matter how unclear the path ahead may seem, what matters is that you do not stop. It is about continuing to **choose yourself**\u2014to listen to your inner voice, to forge your own path, and to do so in your own unique way. Remember: you are not alone. All around you, there are benevolent eyes, open hearts, and outstretched hands. Accept the help.<\/strong> Offer it, in turn. It is human connection that helps us move forward\u2014even when our legs give way.<\/p>\n

Therefore, I must emphasize that moving forward is living.<\/strong> It means accepting that you cannot control everything. It means rising each day with the sincere intention to do your very best<\/strong>, despite the headwinds.<\/p>\n
