For Christmas, I’m offering you this message, hoping it brings a little warmth to your heart.
December is a month filled with excitement, nostalgia, sadness, wishes, and happiness.
Excitement: the joy of welcoming family and friends. Looking forward to a few days off, the pleasure of wrapping gifts while imagining the reaction of the person receiving them. Decorating to bring a little magic into our lives.
Nostalgia: remembering Christmases from the past with our parents, or with our children when they still believed in Santa Claus. Thinking back to making decorations and holiday cards when we were younger—drawings and paper garlands.
Sadness: because a loved one won’t be with us this year.
Wishes: dreaming of the perfect Christmas—and making it happen. It’s not about gifts, but about believing in the magic of the season. Taking the time to write or say “I love you” to the people who matter to us. Letting them know the difference they make in our lives. Creating a warm Christmas while also taking a moment for ourselves.
Happiness: watching children’s eyes light up and admiring the sparkle of freshly fallen snow. Going for a walk to take in the decorations. Listening to Christmas music in shopping centres.
No matter how you celebrate Christmas this year, I hope it’s filled with joy. That joy is my gift to you. It’s my greatest wish.
